It's Over... September 27, 2007 3:38pm in gaming
So, I ended up beating Halo 3 last night. Wasn't that long of a campaign which was kind of disappointing, they breezed over a lot of things that I think they should have spent more time on. It was still pretty good though. Did I play too much over the past 2 days? Probably, played all Tuesday evening and most of yesterday. The ending wasn't too bad. Shocked the hell out of me and made me think "did that really just happen?" I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might not have beaten it yet, so I'll leave it at that. I started my review of it last night and I'll probably finish that up tonight or tomorrow, or maybe the weekend, who knows. I'm happy about it yet I still feel empty like...it's over. Now I gotta freakin' wait to see if there will be a Halo 4 as the ending opened up the possibility. I kinda hope they do make a 4, I'd like to see more story. Multiplayer so far has been awesome, but I'll go into more detail of that in the review. I was kind of worried last night when I heard that XBOX Live was having issues because of the mass number of players signing on to play Halo 3, but I didn't see any problems whatsoever so who knows on that one. Playing Poker tonight so I probably won't be playing that much Halo, but we shall see.

I got back from Boston last night a day early than expected so here I am at work today. The flight back went smoothly so all's well there. And as of now, HALO 3 IS MINE! Time to go home tonight and kick some Covenant ASS! Work went by pretty smoothly, glad to go home and play Halo 3 though. KICK ASS!

Trip to Boston September 24, 2007 2:17pm in life
Well I made it safely to my hotel last night in Chicopee, Massachusetts. The flight into Boston was relatively uneventful. It did remind me why I hate airports. Finding where I needed to be should have been soooo much simpler. But in the end I found it OK. Though I did end up parking in the wrong area at first, I ended up paying $3 for parking that I probably shouldn't have had to pay. Oh well, I'll be reimbursed for it. I had to go to F terminal to check my bag only to have to go to C terminal to board my flight. You would think that there'd be a better way of doing things. I went right through security though, there was no line which was great. No problems with security either, not that there should have been. Unloaded my laptop and whatnot and walked right through. Didn't set off the metal detector or anything. Apparently the metal pin in my thumb isn't strong enough to set it off which is good because that might be hard to explain even though it shouldn't be. My biggest beef was getting out of Logan International Airport in Boston. It took 2 hours to get my baggage, rental car, and leave. Talk about a pain in the ass, heh. Oh well, Got into my hotel a little before 10pm. It's a pretty nice hotel, free internet which is nice. Right now I'm at the hospital waiting for the IT guy to get here and since I have no internet at the moment, I'll be posting this later today when I get back to the hotel. I fly back tomorrow. Flight's at 12:30pm. Plan on getting into Philly, heading to Gamestop, pick up Halo 3 then to work I go for the afternoon. Definitely will be playing Halo 3 upon my return home tomorrow evening. Hopefully tomorrow's flight will go smoothly. Sorta cringing at what I'm sure will be a hefty parking charge.

Halo 3 is Coming September 22, 2007 11:06pm in gaming
![]() In honor of the release of Halo 3 Tuesday I figured I'd give some of my thoughts on the game. I liked both Halo and Halo 2. I still play the multiplayer on Halo 2 and for the most part kick butt. While a lot of people didn't like the campaign on Halo 2, but I thought it was pretty good with a nice storyline. The only thing that annoyed me was the cliffhanger of an ending, but hey, makes my acquisition of Halo 3 all that more exciting to find out how it ends. I played the beta quite a bit and was impressed with it and knowing the graphics only improved...makes it that much more impressive. All I can say is Tuesday night...Halo 3 baby. I'm sure the multiplayer will be fun and am psyched about seeing the end of the storyline. |

Stupidly Optimistic September 21, 2007 1:41pm in thoughts
Am I being stupidly optimistic? So while I was playing poker last night we turned on the Phillies game only to see them losing 6-2 to the Nationals...c'mon the Nationals suck this year. I was pissed so I turned it off. An hour or so later, we turn it back on and what do you know, game's tied 6-6 apparently thanks to a monster home run by Jayson Werth (I saw the replay, it was a great shot, and in RFK stadium, it's hard to hit home runs). We continued to play poker and in the 8th inning I think it was Carlos Ruiz managed to get to 2nd and J-Roll was at the plate and my cousin Tim says "He's gonna hit the ball past the first baseman" Several pitches later, Jimmy hits the ball down the first baseline and gets a single scoring Ruiz putting the Phils on top 7-6. They eventually won the game and I ended up winning $15 in Poker after splitting the pot with Bailey. Which brings me to my main thought. Am I being stupidly optimistic thinking that the Phillies really have a chance to get to the playoffs? They're 1.5 games back from the Mets in the NL East and 2.5 games behind the Padres in the NL Wildcard race. But why am I so optimistic this year, the Phillies have been like this the past two years only to end up 1-2 games back from the wildcard when all is said and done. They do this every year and every year I get all my hopes up. Oh well, maybe this year is the year...GO PHILLIES!
